"Silence Of The Sea is the suppressed agony of a man who has lost his
homeland. I met this man during a trip.
He was sitting on a street on the sidewalk,
looking with a dazed expression at the passersby.
He turned his gaze towards me as I walked
up to him. His eyes were filled with tears,
and in the expression on his face was the
question, what am I doing here? I had no
answer, but I kept thinking about this question,
and finally wrote the outline for a story,
which eventually materialized in the form
of the movie Silence of the Sea."
